it's the old Miracle on 34th St. If Macy's sends customers over to Gimbles, then Macy's will appear to be the "friendly" store and thus will create greater sales!!
I think it's more like merging the two.
I seem to recall that Somebody once scolded a certain group for travelling land and sea to make one convert, only to make them twice a child of the devil.
Hmmm, funny how those words come back 2000 years later.
